Couples and Family Therapist- Ianka Geraldino

“As a family therapist I specialize in working with families to promote deeper understanding and to enhance communication between all members.”

As a bi-lingual Family Therapist I specialize in working with couples and families to promote deeper understanding and to enhance communication between all. I enjoy working with couples to improve the quality of their relationship, teaching effective communication skills that deepen their connection that improve intimacy and friendship.

When working with families Ianka carefully builds rapport with each member. She collaboratively sets goals that build a better understanding a respect for one another. She has experience working with families who present with parent-child conflict, traumatic events, life transitions, grief and loss, aging parents, separation and divorce.

Her experience in working with couples ranges from young engaged couples looking to prepare themselves for marriage, newly married couples transitioning to parenthood, those who struggle with the pain of betrayal, challenges of transitioning children to adulthood and empty nesters who are redefining their relationship.

“Certainty is the enemy of change.”

Family is very important to Ianka. She understands how painful it is when family relationships become strained, misunderstood, detached and disconnected. She is passionate about helping family members work through the pain of traumatic events, develop effective ways of communicating to promote an emotional safe environment for all.

In addition to providing family and couples therapy, Ianka has extensive experience in working with all members of the family. She enjoys working with tweens, teens, young adults and older adults struggling with relational distress, anxiety related issues, situational depression, mood disorders, life transitions, women’s issues, PTSD, grief, loss and separation and divorce.
